Ashburnham Golf Club has been established since 1894 with the traditional clubhouse built in 1924 which has been sympathetically extended and improved over the years.
The Lounge and Bar
The focal part of the clubhouse is the comfortably furnished lounge and bar area which overlooks the course, with doors opening onto a patio, from where you can watch the sun set over the course and the last golfers completing the 18th hole.
Take the opportunity to study the Club memorabilia. On the walls are some original photographs alongside Home International Teams and our special Ryder Cup connection.
An Integrated Club
The Ladies and Gentlemen’s sections are fully integrated, with all members treated equally in all respects (membership fees, use of all facilities, etc.), and we have a longstanding tradition of Mixed Competitions.
Quality and Reputation of the Course
The course designed by J. H.Taylor is one of the best examples of his work in the UK and Ireland. It is today recognised as one of the finest links courses in Wales and the top ranked golf course in the Carmarthenshire and surrounding area. With its rolling fairways, dunes, excellent greens and spectacular views over the Gower Peninsula , the course is stunning and a fair test for golfers of all abilities.
New members comment on the warm welcome they receive and there are a number of regular games available which ensure that a newcomer can turn up and get a game with other members. Regular social occasions also assist new members in getting to know other members.
During the summer months the patio is a popular post round location. With magnificent views of the 1st and 18th Holes this is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or bar snack whilst reflecting on your round.
Majestic Clubhouse Setting
The clubhouse boasts superb views over the estuary to an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The clubhouse is a hive of activity, with its bars and celebrated catering. There are also numerous social events enjoyed by members and visitors throughout the year. These include relaxed barbecues, family fun days, curry and chilli nights, gourmet dinners as well as formal black tie events such as the Captain’s dinner and New Year’s Eve dinner.
Our friendly staff provide both members and guests with a warm welcome and offer a full bar service together with a varied menu, from light snacks throughout the day through to a full dinner.
Surrounded by signs of the extensive history of the Club the lounge provides panoramic views over the course to the Gower peninsular . Sink into a relaxing chair or enjoy the afternoon sun with a refreshing drink on the terrace.
The ‘Spike Bar’ offers that well deserved drink as you come straight from the course, and after making use of the extensive locker room facilities, dinner can be served in the dining room.
For groups or parties who would like a little more privacy why not make arrangements for use of one of our private rooms for dining or business meetings.
